Changes in Hispanic PCI

With more than 250 articles published and an average of 10,000 unique visitors per month, PCI Hispano has become a reference in the area of security of means of payment and regulatory compliance in Latin America. However, after more than 9 years online, it was necessary to make an update both at the content level and at the aesthetic level of the portal. And the time has come, hand in hand with the publication of version 4.0 of the PCI DSS standard by the PCI SSC.

Content changes

In March 2022, the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) published version 4.0 of its flagship standard: PCI DSS. This release includes multiple changes to payment card data security controls and the criteria for both applicability and evaluation of their implementation. These changes imply that all related documentation (informational supplements, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), payment mark compliance programs, and all other standards that depend directly or indirectly on PCI DSS, including PCI 3DS, PCI P2PE, PCI TSP, and PCI SSF/S3) must be updated. This obviously does not exclude articles published in PCI Hispano, so it has been chosen to re-write all the existing content in the portal, updating references to controls, images, diagrams, documents, etc. in order to avoid confusion with old and/or obsolete versions of the standard.

These updates in the portal will be made gradually, interspersing updated content and new content based on the availability of the team of authors of the portal.

Aesthetic changes

Additionally, all these content changes are accompanied by a redesign at the aesthetic level of the portal, including updates in the design and distribution of the content (layout), visual improvements, optimization in load times and simplification of components. On the other hand, the forum section has been removed, due to time constraints in moderating questions and answers.

With these changes we hope to continue to offer our readers useful and updated content in Spanish to help in the security of transactions with payment card data.
